Oscar Romero Award

Our school has been awarded the Oscar Romero Award at Participator Level on 2nd March 2026 in recognition of our commitment to living out Catholic Social Teaching (CST) throughout our school community.

This award celebrates the way CST underpins our leadership, curriculum and daily actions. In the curriculum, it was encouraging to hear that our pupils are learning about CST “not simply as knowledge” but as something lived and experienced. Our carefully planned approach ensures that CST flows across year groups and subjects, preparing children to put their faith into action.

The practical strand of our work was also highly commended. Our ‘Live Simply’ initiatives, environmental projects such as creating bug hotels and bird feeders, and our support for the local foodbank were recognised as powerful examples of solidarity, participation and care for our common home. We are especially proud of the way our pupils actively contribute to these initiatives.

We are incredibly grateful to our staff, governors, pupils, parents, Parish of St Mary and St Catherine Labouré, and wider community for their continued support in helping us live out our mission each day.

Congratulations to everyone involved — this is a shared achievement for our whole school family!
