Baba Marta

Giving of bracelets is a Bulgarian tradition that symbolises the arrival of Spring, health and prosperity.

The tradition is tied to Baba Marta, or Grandma March, a figure in Bulgarian folklore.  She is said to bring warmer weather and renewal of life.
