Weekly Newsletter W/C 06/07/20
It was so lovely to see some of the children last week and I can’t wait to see all the other children in September. The important thing is that we all stay safe and well. This is intended for those children who may not be able to come into school and the group B children. As always, please do what you can. Every family and circumstance is different.
Alongside this newsletter, will be the next plan from the LPDS. The plan has many links that you can click on to watch the video and complete the activities. This week’s story and activities are based on ‘Teddy Bears’. The stories on the LPDS are really fun stories to engage the children, even if it is just to watch and discuss with your child all you have read and which parts they have enjoyed.
White Rose Maths
This week, please complete Summer Term, Week 10 of the White Rose Maths with your child. You can access the resources on the attachment titled ‘White Rose Maths Week 10’ but any week you want to access is fine. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page and all the weeks are displayed.
Reading and Comprehension On the ‘Active Learn’ website, your child should read the online books (which they have been issued) and answer questions by clicking on the bug. Depending on the length of book, your child should aim to complete one - two books each week.
On the Purple Mash website, there are many videos and activities linked to different topics the children have already covered in the past few weeks.
Geraldine the giraffe/ Twinkle/ Phonicsplay/ Alphablocks
As well as all these ideas, remember to keep active / make up dance routines using ‘Go Noodle’ online.
Focussing on Phase 3 sounds would be fantastic to get your children ready for year one. Particular focus needs to go on the sounds…. Ow, oi, ear, air, ure and er. If your child is confident with phase 3 sounds then you could move onto Phase 4. Look at Phonicsplay/ letters and sounds or twinkle for guidance and ideas.
Don’t forget- BBC bitesize also have some great activities to look at!
Take care and stay safe.
